The ominous environment engrossed Luna so greatly she was distracted from the most surprising element of the gate: It was lit up, clearly powered by electricity. Or so one would hope, since the alternative was prohibited arts.
''Save some of that amazement for later, dear friend! The biggest surprise awaits beyond those unnecessary big doors!'' The husband's excitement was overflowing.
''What? [Blank space] we shouldn't enter. I have a bad feelings about this. Seriously.'' Luna said with a stoic look on her face, which worried the man in the scene a bit, but his kind was not known for listening to the voice of reason, trusting a witch's intuition or even using a little bit of logic. Whichever was causing Luna to say that got lost in the masculine brain.
''Here. Remove the leaves from the other side and pull the lever.''
''Why does it have a mechanism to open it? If they took the time to build such a huge gate, why not seal it?''
''You're thinking too much about this, Luna.''
''You're not thinking enough.''
''My partners and I come here all the time. Every gift I got you came from this place. Are you going to be scared now, with our house filled with technology?''
''It's not ghosts I'm afraid of.''
The husband approached Luna and grabbed her shoulders, her figure towering him. ''It's gonna be fine. I wouldn't have brought you here if we didn't know for sure it's safe.'' He said, looking straight into her eyes.
''Maybe it was never safe, they were just waiting for the right opportunity to strike.''
''Give me a break, Luna. Just open the door. There is plenty of time to regret it.''
''If we make it out of here alive.'' Luna kept going, pulling the goddamn lever.
''You, little missy, will be at home having dinner before you even realize! Hahaha.'' He went back to his annoying, dismissive demeanor while pulling the other goddamn lever. He just can't respect silence's superiority for ten seconds.
The gates silently disappeared into the mountain, revealing that the machinery was ingrained into it.
