Governments were slow at reacting to the danger. They only worried about their luxury lives being ruined, since all money became digital right before the first crystal clear pictures EVER taken of both Big Foot and the Loch Ness monster. Of course no one believed, but no one in their right mind could keep denying all the proof once social media was plagued by videos of supernatural beings. And so, the people that weren't in positions of power made a powerful decision: cut all electricity off (thus called Lights Out).
One of the largest human settlements was located in a mountain. Yes, inside. There was an abnormally large hole and people came to the very logical conclusion that it was perfectly safe to stay at.
It was given the name ''The Hometown'' after some people fled their homes back in town to live in a nearby farming field. You'd get little to no human interaction, given how far houses were from each other there. It was used mainly to cultivate garlic. Other vegetables were lower in the newfound food hierarchy.
