The first spark of Paradiso Phantasma appeared upon reading
When Marnie Was There.
Annoyed by the same tropes again and again, the author set 'Ghost Girl Phantasma' to start with those very tropes, and create a new path for women's stories, more especifically lesbians: someone dead, another one marrying a man. Other cliches and lies are also challenged, such as opting for homosexuality after a particularly bad experience with men, highschool romance, lesbianism as a form of asexuality, hide your lesbians, promiscuous lesbians, lesbians are predatory... It was a to-break list, while also being a shameless criticism of the reality men force on women and how it affects psychologically, as one topic can't be talked about without bringing the other.
The first draft was written in two thousand and twenty one by hand, only to be left in the dark when the author decided to work on a webcomic.
Two years later, October. Picked up again to participate in a romance novel contest. Thirty chapters and a loss later, almost everything had to be scrapped due to conflicts with the initial and updated visions.
