Being decent is so extremely rare amongst males, but they want to be given medals for it so much, that they came up with an entire word for it: 'gentle-man'. With their need to be seen and praised, they are oblivious to the truth that being nice is never to give a good image, but simply to help others. Which already feels good by itself, our brains make sure of it. If you do it for recognition, you're not good. You're performing.
