This sentiment was written on September 5th, 2025. My feelings may or may have not changed since.
First, I saw a woman complaining about having a male friend 'sending mixed signals' and her being understandably distressed about it and avoiding him. I told her to block him and the excuses started. He's friends with her other friends, she doesn't like confrontations so she doesn't want to tell him he's making her uncomfortable... I wasted too much time in my teens trying to help this type of people, I've heard it all before. If you're in a bad situation and can do someting about it but choose not to, you're creating the bad situation. Either end it or don't complain. What's the point? Some things in life ARE that simple.
Second, I was reading a group of people talking about the word "clanker" and how it's become sensitive because it's inspired by racial slurs. Which made me question if, in Overwatch, there are any female zomnics, as we only ever saw males. Even Ramattra, who's supposed to be the opposite of Zenyatta in every way, is a male. Whenever male writers create fictional discrimination, they only ever reflect it from a male lense, despite the fact that misogyny is the oldest and most pervasive type of hatred. Racism is only taken seriously because it affects men.
